The certified short computer courses, to be offered by IT academies of Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (Tevta), will not only be low cost as compared to private institutions but also internationally recognised.
This was stated by speakers at a seminar held in connection with the setting up of 300 IT Academies by Tevta in collaboration with Microsoft.
MPA and Punjab Chief Minister's Media Advisor Khawaja Imran Nazeer was the chief guest while a large number of students from different Technical Educational Institutions, run by Tevta, attended the seminar. Tevta Zonal Chief Dr Syed Aziz Haider said establishment of IT academies was a good move to meet the challenges of future.
District Manager TEVTA Lahore Khurram Shafique said IT education together with technical education would offer more options of employment for students in future. The programme was organised under the supervision of Principal Government College of Technology (GCT) Raiwind Road, Syed Shabbir Ali.
MoU signed between Tevta, SME: An MoU was signed between the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) and SME Business Support Fund on Friday under which short and long-term courses to train entrepreneurs, craftsmen, cutters and designers in the field of gems and Jewellery would be offered.
Chairperson Tevta Saeed Ahmad Alvi and Chief Executive Officer SME Business Support Fund Syed Saquib Mohyuddin signed the MoU. Other officers of both organisations were also present. About 2,000 people will be trained annually by also using the internet based distance learning system through these courses.ECe
