SCHENECTADY - A State Street mother who let a high-risk registered sex offender take her 2-year-old daughter out for an evening trip for hamburgers has been charged with child endangerment, prosecutors said.

Melissa Moya-Martinez came to the attention of authorities Sunday after Rotterdam police stopped 52-year-old Ruben Guzman's car in Rotterdam and discovered Moya-Martinez's daughter sitting in the car without a child seat, authorities said. They later determined Moya-Martinez knew Guzman was a registered sex offender.
