Fed: SA's 3rd death takes national Xmas road toll to 32

SYDNEY, Dec 26 AAP - South Australia's third fatality has pushed the national Christmas-New
Year road toll to 32.

A woman passenger was killed when a car hit an electricity pole between Meadows and
Ashbourne in the Adelaide Hills about 4.30am (CDT) today.

She was a passenger in the car which went off the road on a bend, a South Australian
police spokeswoman said .

The driver was in a serious condition at the Flinders Medical Centre, she said.

Victoria has seen the most road deaths with 11 killed since the toll period began on December 19.

Victoria Police have reminded motorists driving long distances to take regular rest breaks.

Police say drivers should stop and take 15 minute rests, like power naps, every two hours.

The road toll stands at eight in NSW, five in Queensland, three in Western Australia
and two in the Northern Territory.

Tasmania and the ACT remain fatality free.

(Eds: National Christmas road toll figures are for the period 0001 December 19 to 2359
