David Ryan lives the by adage, "no job too small," adding to it qualifiers like comical, thankless, inspiring, prestigious, aromatic and even life threatening. Spanning 56 years and almost as many countries, this Phoenix-born nomad has made a career of changing careers. One thing is constant: the need for adventure.

In pursuit of just that, Ryan has gone from driving cabs in San Fracisco to assisting the President of Mexico to working with the criminally insane in Arizona to doing freelance photography for Rolling Stone, National Geographic and the New York Times to acting as State Commissioner for the blind and visually-impaired, selling fine loose teas and making novelty t-shirts …
